City to hold reception for new police chief, Ben Hall

The City of Azle invites the community to a come and go reception to meet Azle's new police chief, Ben Hall. The reception will be held May 19 from 4 - 6 pm in the Community Room at Azle Memorial Library, 333 W. Main Street.

Chief Hall began work in Azle on May 2. He succeeds former Azle Police Chief Rick Pippins, who retired January 2022. Sid Fuller served as the interim police chief.

Chief Hall came to Azle from the Round Rock Police Department, where he began his service in 1999. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas. Chief Hall is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy as well as the Leadership Command College – Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. He has earned accreditation as a master peace officer as well as an instructor and firearms instructor through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
