Introduction

Azle has started on the journey of updating its Comprehensive Plan (Plan), a roadmap that will guide long-term decision making for the next 20 years. To build on this effort, Azle is helping the City envision plans for parks, roadways and mobility through its Master Thoroughfare and Parks & Recreation Plans. Over the next year, we’ll be inviting the community to learn about future economic opportunities and to tell us their vision for future land use, housing, economic development, parks, public safety, and transportation, which will shape the character and quality of life in our city. 

Planning Area

Azle’s Comprehensive Plan will focus on planning for the area within City limits and the City’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). The Plan will also take into account neighboring areas that have the potential to influence the growth of the City.

Project Milestones & Objectives

The planning process for Azle includes five phases, some of which will be going on simultaneously! These phases include opportunities to share your voice and build upon the progress made in the previous stage. The final stage of the planning process includes the adoption of the Plan in 2024.

The final community-driven roadmap for new growth and redevelopment will align with Azle’s values and opportunities. The Plan will incorporate various strategies and tools to guide growth, development, and policies over the next two decades.
