Neighborhood Watch Program

Take a Bite Out of Crime

The Neighborhood Watch Program was designed to keep citizens informed of activity occurring in their neighborhoods by forming watch groups within their neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Watch Program is a simple neighbor-helping-neighbor program that has assisted in reducing crime within our community. This program is an alliance between the citizens of Azle and law enforcement. The Criminal Investigations Unit of the Azle Police Department serves as the Department's liaison with the Neighborhood Watch Block Captains in our community. Citizens become the extra set of eyes and ears for law enforcement, reporting suspicious activity to police, along with working together to resolve problem areas.

he cornerstone of residential crime prevention efforts, Neighborhood Watch Groups are organized citizen efforts to partner with law enforcement for the betterment of individual neighborhoods. Each group's activity is coordinated by a Block Captain who is in regular contact with the Criminal Investigations Unit of the Department. Block Captains meet with police personnel once a month. Azle's Neighborhood Watch Groups will assist the Department in hosting the Annual Texas National Night Out event in October. This event highlights community-wide efforts to assist the police with crime prevention.
