2019 Winter Reading
January 7, 2019-February 28, 2019
The Library is excited to announce Winter Reading, beginning January 7 and ending on February 25. Children, teens and adults are invited to stop by the Library to register, then keep track of how many pages you read during the Winter Reading time frame. Be sure to report your pages read each week and help us reach our goal of reading 350,000 pages as a community! Every page counts! Registered participants will be eligible to earn raffle tickets towards one of many $20 Wal-Mart gift cards!

Join us for an evening of fun, food, and prizes as we play bingo and get suggestions for your next great read! The event will be held in the Library Community Room. Adults only, please.

Join us in the Library Community Room for a fun program for children and families featuring live animals! See these extraordinary animals up close while learning all about them!
Adult Spelling Bee
Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 PM
Round up your crew and come on down to the Library Community Room to test your spelling skills in our Spelling Bee! Register your team of 1-6 players (age 18+) by 2/13/19. Registration forms can found here or at the Library Information Desk. The winners of the event will then advance to the Regional Spelling Bee and compete against winning teams from other libraries in the North Texas area (date TBA).
Craft Night - DIY Photo Displays

Musical Trio featuring Ft. Worth Symphony Musicians

All ages are invited to an evening of music performed by three talented Fort Worth Symphony musicians! Begins promptly at 6 PM in the Library Community Room.
Non-Fiction Addiction Book Club
First Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM
The Library is excited to announce the beginning of a new non-fiction book club for adults! Join us for lively discussion and get to know fellow readers. Meets in the Library Community Room.

Family Film Friday
First Friday of each month at 4:00 PM (Plus Each Friday in June/July)
Join us each month for a family friendly movie in the Library Community Room. Fresh popcorn provided free of charge. All ages welcome, but children under 8 and under must have a parent or adult guardian with them at all times. Sponsored by the Azle Library Trust.

Second Tuesday of every month from 4:30-5:30 pm
Discover your inner artist! We will explore all types of art and you can take your creations home! Perfect for Ages 5 and up. All materials will be supplied. For more information, see our Flyer or call the Library.
READ to a Dog
Second Saturday of every month from 2-3:30 pm
Children of all ages will be able to read to a certified therapy dog in order to improve their reading skills. Takes place in the Library Community Room. Come-and-go.
Second Monday of every other month at 4:30 pm
Learn Cooking techniques, discover new recipes, and sample tasty foods at this monthly program held in the Community Room.

THHSC Program Sign-Up Assistance
Fourth Thursday of every month from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Library foyer
A Benefit consultant will be available to help families sign up for SNAP/Food Stamps, CHIP, Children's Medicaid, TANF, and any other Texas Health and Human Services Commission program . Questions? Contact the Library at 817-444-7216 and ask to speak to the Children's Services Librarian.
Toddler Tales Storytime

Toddler Tales (PDF) is a participatory program for parents/caregivers and children ages 18-36 months. We will enjoy books, songs, finger plays, felt board stories and crafts.
