Water Production

Overview

The Azle Water Treatment Plant produces high quality water that exceeds state drinking water standards for removal of bacteriological and chemical contaminants. Our staff is certified by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and is dedicated to serving the needs of residential and commercial customers.

Eagle Mountain Lake is our raw water source. This pristine lake provides a consistent supply, allowing us to process a capacity of 6 million gallons per day. Lake water is processed by conventional methods, which include removing turbidity, disinfection, filtration, and post-disinfection prior to being sent to the distribution system.

Water quality tests are performed every two hours of plant operation to assure that we are producing safe and superior water. Bacteriological samples are obtained from the distribution system monthly and TCEQ monitors drinking water parameters throughout the year to assure quality and safety of the water we produce.
