If you have an emergency after shelter hours (vicious animal, animal bite, or injured animal only), contact the Azle Police Department at (817) 444-3221.

Adoption Fees
All dogs are a set fee of $100, included in that fee is:
1. Your new dog will already be spayed or neutered.
2. Heartworm tested (if age appropriate).
3. Will have received a physical exam.
4. Have their stool tested for any internal parasites.
5. Capstar (24hr oral flea treatment).
6. Will receive their Rabies vaccine for all dogs 12wks and older.
7. Strongid-T dewormer.
8. Microchip & its registration.
9. A Bordetella vaccine and 1st round of vaccines (Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type2, Parainfluenza-Parvovirus, & Leptospirosis).


All unaltered cats are a set fee of $68, included in that fee is:
1. Having your cat sterilized using our vet, Dr. Grote.
2. 1st round of vaccines (feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, and feline Leukemia).
3. Strongid-T dewormer.
4. Capstar (24hr oral flea treatment).
5. Microchip & its registration.

To use your own vet for sterilization the adoption fee is
$15 + $35 *Spay/Neuter Deposit  = $55
*Spay/Neuter deposit will be refunded after we receive confirmation that your new pet has been altered.

Cats that are already Altered are $15, included in that fee is:
1. 1st round of vaccines (feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, and feline Leukemia).
2. Strongid-T dewormer.
3. Capstar (24hr oral flea treatment).
4. Microchip & its registration.
5. 1 ear mite treatment.

Impound Fees
If your pet is impounded, there is a $25 impound fee and $15 a day shelter fee.

Livestock & Exotic Permits
$25 for the first year and an annual renewal fee of $10.

Pet License
Pet licenses are required to be worn on any animal within Azle city limits. These may be purchased at the Azle Animal Shelter with proof of a current rabies vaccination.

• Initial license is $6 (unspayed or unneutered)
• Initial license is $3 (spayed or neutered)
• Annual renewal fee is $2 for spayed / neutered animals and $5 for unspayed / unneutered.
