2010 Census
City of Azle, 613 SE Parkway, Azle, TX 76020
Water Main Break - Boil Water Notice

UPDATE  2-8-10  6 p.m.
The break in the line has been repaired and the elevated tanks are filling.  All residents on the city's water system should be receiving water.  If you open your taps and nothing comes out, leave them open for a while to relieve the air that may have become trapped in your lines. (Do not leave open lines unattended.)  Once the water is flowing, allow it to run for a few minutes to clear the line.  If you still are not receiving water, please call the City at 817-444-3221.

To comply with state regulations, city crews have begun flushing lines to raise the chlorine levels.  The boil water notice remains in effect until further notice.  This means you must boil your water before drinking or using it for cooking.  Tarrant County Health Department has advised that food establishments must be closed until the boil water requirement is lifted.  We request that everyone continue to conserve as much as possible.  Additional updates will be posted as they become available.

The City of Azle greatly appreciates your patience as crews continue to work to resolve this issue.  *************************************************************************************************
At about 8:00 pm on February 6, the City’s 16 inch water main developed a large leak; crews were called out and began closing the isolation valves in the area to contain the leak.  In the process, a 16 inch valve stem broke in the open position. This is the first valve out of the plant and we were unable to shut off the line.  Be advised, to facilitate the repair, Lakeview will be closed to through traffic from Westlake Woods to Broadway.
As a result of this, the City has issued a boil water notice until further notice for all residents who are on the city's water system.
